Forest Bathing with Guided Plant Identification Hike and Picnic Box- Saturday, May 14

$35.00

Escape to Bilston for an afternoon of forest bathing with wilderness guide and community herbalist, SaraLyn Deslaurier. Followed by a picnic from Bramble by Bilston in the century old apple orchard.

SaraLyn has been guiding hikes in the Great Bear Rainforest for the past 5 years at Nimmo Bay Lodge and is a graduate of the Pacific Rim Community Herbalist program. She loves the temperate rainforests of the Pacific Northwest more than anywhere else on earth and has grown a beautiful depth of wisdom from observing and sharing her passion for so many years.

You will identify flora and funga in the old cedar forest just beyond the farm and make your way past Sitting Lady Falls, Witty's lagoon and marsh and arrive at a sprawling sandy beach. The beach area is beautiful where the low tide creates visible sand dunes surrounded by water shallow enough to walk through. You may also want to pack your binoculars, the area is popular amongst bird watchers as the lagoon provides shelter and an ecosystem of food for many different shorebirds.

Your hike will be followed by a beautiful picnic basket prepared by Bramble by Bilston that you may enjoy in the orchard.
